Bamberg
Bamberg is a small town in Germany famous for its gorgeous medieval old town, situated close to the northern end of the Romantic Road. It’s such a small town that, aside from driving the road, most people have little reason to visit, though it hosts a university. Coincidentally, two sets of friends from Berlin moved there or nearby and so I had reason to visit frequently. My acquaintance with the city deepened when my boyfriend (now my husband) Murat started his PhD at University of Bamberg and our long-distance relationship was punctuated by my visits. While he worked on his thesis, I wandered about taking photographs, exploring the streets, visiting churches, and admiring the architecture.
