Northeastern US

Before I was 10, we lived in New York and New Jersey, so I was certainly an East coast kid. Though from the age of 10 on I lived in California, in the summers I spent a lot of time in New York City with my grandmother, who delighted in taking me to museums, cultural events, and Broadway shows. I didn’t explore the East coast as an adult until I began graduate school at Yale in 1983. During my years living in New Haven, I often escaped to NYC, to eat, shop, see theater, and generally roam about. I did visit Boston and later I got to know Providence well since the family of one of my boyfriends lived there. And I moved to DC in my late 20s and stayed through my early 30s, during which time I traveled the southeastern coast fairly often. But I don’t think I took a single photo on the East coast until I came back as a visiting expat, so many of these are adults-eye views of places I had visited as a kid and a much younger woman.

About me

I am an artist, writer, academic, teacher, entrepreneur, and activist. Sometimes these practices overlap, but often I feel like I’m living parallel lives.
